Blessings - Frantic Stamper

Are you ready for another card made with the August Frantic Stamper release?  I have a ton of cards to share before the month is over so I better get going!  I must admit that this card is one of my favorites and it surprised me because I wasn't sure exactly where I was going with it.  Ha ha!

I started this card by playing around with ideas for the Floral Vines (FRA-DIE-B024).  I liked the idea of clear embossing it on a solid color so I started on black and it looked SO pretty.  Then I toyed with another idea of stamping it on a light color and coloring in some of the flowers.  I liked both and while I intended to make two separate cards with these backgrounds, when I put them next to each other, I loved the combo.  I decided to combine them at an angle and cover the spot where they come together with a sentiment strip.  I love kraft, gold, and black together so I went with that for the strip and stamped a portion of my sentiment using the Blessings stamp set (FRA-CL-081) and finished it off with the coordinating Elegant Blessings Die (FRA-DIE-10280).  I love the color combo and how the two backgrounds work so well together.  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for checking out my card and I can't wait to share more of what I created with this awesome August release from Frantic Stamper.  See you soon!

CTS #235

It's Thursday and I'm super excited to share my card for today's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  We've been super busy with vacation bible school at our church this week and has been having a blast!  The boys and I made robots, a pull back car obstacle course, and other fun things for the kids to enjoy.  It's so fun having them be old enough to help out but also still enjoy the fun of VBS!  We've been having a blast this week.

You can have some fun too by joining us this week over at CAS(E) this Sketch!  You won't regret it!  Here's my card:

Ok, on first glance you might be thinking, "Chrissy, this isn't CAS!"  I know, I know.  I even debated starting over but then I thought about it.  The busy background might not make it seem clean but really it is just a piece of patterned paper, a border, some twine, and a premade sentiment/shape.  You can't really get more simple than that.  It also doesn't have a ton of embellishment.  So, I'm going with this as my CAS(E) this Sketch take this week.  It's all in the eye of the beholder after all.  This card is made up of papers from the American Crafts Little by Little Collection by Shimelle.  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see you over at the CAS(E) this Sketch blog.  Have a great Thursday!

Happy Birthday - Little Tangles Challenge

Oh my goodness, there are so many fun challenges to take part in and so much inspiration to be had.  I have been so busy with CAS(E) this Sketch that I haven't had much time to get out and explore.  So, I'm making it my mission to find some new challenges to inspire me to make cards for more than just what I "have" to make.  If you have a challenge you love, let me know about it in the comments so I can check them out.

Now, I love Neat and Tangled and the fun stamps they create.  I've been slowly adding to my collection as they come out with more and more that I must have so I was super excited to find the Little Tangles challenge.  It worked out really well that it's Neat and Tangled's birthday and the challenge for Little Tangles is birthday themed because I ALWAYS need birthday cards.  So, I got to work creating this fun card:

I knew I wanted to make a fun modern card with the Scandinavian Prints set so I got started with this fun black and white background paper.  Next, I created my own patterned paper using the Scandinavian Prints and stamping various combos in different colors.  I just love the combos available with this set.  I cut my paper with a circle die and layered it over a strip of teal glitter tape.  Next, I cut the Celebrate die in two colors and layered them before adding them to my focal point circle.  I stamped the rest of sentiment on a piece of vellum that I wrapped around the circle and then finished it all off with some enamel dots.

Thanks so much for checking out my card today and keep the challenge ideas coming!!  I'd love to try some more.

Fall Leaves - Frantic Stamper

Good morning!  It's another summery morning here in Iowa but I'm thinking of fall!  It doesn't hurt that the Frantic Stamper August Release is so packed with awesome fall fun!  In case you can't tell, I've been having tons of fun with these new products and have made a few too many cards with them (as if that's possible).

I started by cutting Reverse Cut Leaves Die (FRA-DIE-10277) from a white card panel to show the brown wood grain paper behind.  Next, I created a frame with more white paper and layered it on top of the leaf panel.  Next, I cut three orange Elegant Thankful Dies (FRA-DIE-10279) and layered them for some extra dimension and added it to my card front.  Here's another look:

Thanks so much for checking out my card and I can't wait to share more of what I created with this awesome August release from Frantic Stamper.  See you soon!

CTS #234

It's another lovely Thursday here and I'm excited to share my card with you today for this new sketch.  If you haven't checked it out already, head on over to CAS(E) this Sketch to see this week's challenge and the team's amazing inspiration.  You won't want to miss it!  Here's the card I created for the week:

My card this week started with a little crazy stamping while playing with the Right At Home Let Love Grow stamp set.  I was playing around with different color combos and ways to use the stamps in the set when I stamped out this cute little plant and pot.  I knew it needed to be on a card right now.  So I looked at the CTS sketches and got to work.  I went with some polka dot paper for my background to echo the dots I added to the pot.  I cut a Stitched Circle Frame from My Favorite Things to help capture the sketch layout and provide a great landing spot for my plant.  I popped both elements up with foam tape and then added a sentient stamped on a piece of vellum using the Simple Sentiments stamp set from Right At Home.  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for checking out my card!  I hope you'll come join us at CAS(E) this Sketch!  See you there!

Greetings - Frantic Stamper

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  I hope you are having a wonderful day.  I have another awesome card to share with you guys using the new Frantic Stamper August Release products.  I got creating and I just couldn't stop.  In fact this card uses pieces from the first card I shared with you because I love the products so much, I even used parts that I'd usually throw away!  Just check it out:

I started this card by cutting my sentiment, Modern Greetings (FRA-DIE-10272), on a cream cardstock to get it in the correct position before I starting rebuilding my Reverse Cut Leaves Die (FRA-DIE-10277) from pieces I had leftover after cutting the panels for this card.  When I finished the cardfront, I layered it on a cardbase created with brown woodgrain paper.  Simple concept that just took a bit a of time to complete but was TOTALLY worth the effort.  Here's a closer look:

Happy Mail with Right At Home

Good morning and I hope you are getting ready for an awesome week.  We have the Iowa State Fair starting this week and we always enjoy our trip down to explore the fair.  This year we are going to go down for the concert opening night and spend the night so we can hang out at the fair the next day.  I'm excited and am ready to get down there now.

I actually had so me time to create this week and I had some fun with some new to me products!  I have always loved Right at Home Stamps and took advantage of the awesome sale Nicole had a little while ago.  Here's one of the cards I created with my loot!

I started by stamping a yellow piece of cardstock with the Watercolor Background Stamp with a similar color ink to create a fun tone on tone background for my card.  Then, before I knew it, I got layering this patterned paper with this solid and I had a fun angled card front ready for stamping.  I stamped my sentiment from Simple Sentiments as a border along my yellow edge and then added some teal glitter tape and thin piece of black cardstock with foam tape to add another fun layer for these adorable flowers from Happy Mail.  I scattered my flowers and created dimension by layering and adding foam tape.  I loved how it looked but wanted a little more black so I got to work with my copic multi-liner.  I added dots around the top side of my tape and around my flowers.  I loved the finished look!  Here's a closer peek:

Thanks so much for checking out my card today!  I hope you have a fun day and I'll see you tomorrow with a new card!
