Spring Bunny

Hi, you guys!  I hope you all had a wonderful week and are gearing up for an awesome weekend.  We are heading out on a short little ski trip tomorrow and I will happily be sipping coffee in the lodge while the kids and husband ski.  I tweaked my back a few weeks ago and it's not quite right yet which means I don't want to risk messing it up again.  Before I get packing, I wanted to make sure to share another springy card with you using the January Frantic Stamp Release goodies!

I thought this Vintage Bunny Die (FRA-DIE-10385) was so cute, I couldn't wait to cut him out of some watercolor paper and add just a touch of color and what good is a bunny without his Vintage Easter Basket and Eggs (FRA-DIE-10388)?  I cut the eggs from watercolor paper to make their coloring soft and springy before adding them to the basket which I cut from wood veneer cardstock.  Once I had these guys done and ready, I wasn't really sure what my plan was with them until I saw the Modern Wreath Die (FRA-DIE-10392).  I felt like that would be the perfect grounding point and would be a nice subtle touch in the background.  I cute this from some light pink patterned paper and added it to a very neutral patterned background paper.  After layering my scene, I felt like it needed just a pop of black so I added a sentiment with the Elegant Happy Spring Easter Words Dies (FRA-DIE-10393) which then let me to trim my background and center the whole thing on a black cardbase for just a touch more black.  Here's another look:

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great weekend!

CTS #255

Good morning you guys!  I hate to be short this morning but my back is acting up and I'm trying not to sit for too long.  However, I did want to get on and share a card I created for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  I think you will have a great time with this sketch and I hope you'll come join us!  Here's my take:

I just love how this turned out!  I used my new obsession the Concord & 9th Fill-In Blooms Bundle to create the floral for this card.  I stamped a black background and then used a light pink for the focal flower with a slightly darker pink in the center and the black for the central poofy bit.  The other flowers and berries are darker shades that see to fall in a similar family to the flower colors.  I added a soft pink stripe to my black and white striped card base and finished it with a strip of black embossed with the hello sentiment from Bits & Pieces.  Lastly, I added my flower with some foam tape and the card was finished.  Here's a closer look:

Quick and Simple

It's Wednesday and I have a quick card to share in the little bit of time I have to sit and type.  Ha ha!  Some days are just like that, aren't they?

I've been meaning to share this card for awhile as it was my father-in-law's birthday card.  Well, I'm slow!  ;)  It's SO SO simple!  I started with a kraft cardbase stamped with these awesome triangle shapes which are actually trees from the Neat and Tangled Scandinavian Prints Christmas set.  I love this set and stamped in black, it really makes an impact!  Next, I embossed a verse from Papertrey Ink's Inspired: Grace Mini Stamp set in white on my design.  I finished it off with a layered cut using the Inspiried: Grace Die.  Here's another peek:

Like I said, easy as pie!  I love that you can set this up on a stamp positioner and crank out a whole bunch of them.  In fact, I might just do that when I get another second to settle down.  ;)  Have a great Wednesday!

Spring Morning - Frantic Stamper

Good morning!!  To say I'm glad it is Friday is a total understatement.  I'm beat and could really use a rest.  Hopefully, I'll get one this weekend.  Looking out my window and seeing all the snow makes it seem so crazy to be thinking ahead to spring but the Frantic Stamper January Release has me in the mood for the thaw.  I hope you have been enjoying it as well.  Here's the first card I'm sharing from this release:

I started my card today by cutting some watercolor paper with the Spring Scene Edger (FRA-DIE-10383).  I used some Zig clean color pens to add a watercolored look to my bunnies, chicks, etc and then trimmed it with just enough room to fit a sentiment from Easter Greetings (FRA-CL-088).  I saw this paper in a 6x6 pad and thought it looked like a sunrise, so I trimmed a strip off and added it to a black cardbase.  Then I layered my scene on top with some foam tape for dimension.  Here's a closer look and those cute critters:

Thanks so much for stopping by on this awesome Friday.  I hope you enjoyed my card and will check out the rest of the Frantic Stamper January Release.  Have a great weekend!

CTS #254

Hello everyone!  Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my take on this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge!  The boys and I have been running around making sure everything is ready for some yucky weather we are supposed to be expecting today.  Most of the snow we had is gone so I guess it's time for some more.  I could live without the dropping temp and the wind but I guess it is a good excuse to get some card making in and relax with my boys.

I hope you are having a great week and are ready to play along with us.  I love Leigh's sketch and I couldn't wait to get creating.  Especially because I knew it would be perfect for a stamp set that I bought but hadn't had a chance to ink up yet.  Here's my take:

I knew this cool lined stamp from Concord & 9th's Bits & Pieces Stamp Set would be the perfect substitute for the frame in the sketch.  I planned to leave some of the spaces open that were intended for the flowers but I still liked how it would look.  After I had that image centered, I started stamping flowers and leave then cutting them out with the Bits & Pieces Dies.  I just love peach, yellow, turquoise, and teal with black and gray so I went with it.  I positioned my flowers and leaves in the corner of my stamped image and popped some up with foam tape for dimension.  I was going to play with the layout a little more but, whoops, I sort of stuck them down on accident.  Oh well!  Next, I embossed my sentiment in yellow on a strip of black and added it with some foam tape.  A few enamel dots here and there finished things off...he he he, just a few.  ;)  Here's a closer peek:

I hope you enjoyed my take on this week's sketch and that I'll see your creations over at CAS(E) this Sketch.  Have a great weekend!!!

Lil' Inker Designs October Release Day #3

Well, it's the last day of our new release hop at Lil' Inker Designs and I'm super excited to show off these last couple products.  Hopefully, you started out at the the Lil' Inker Blog so you don't miss a stop on the hop and have come here from the amazing Amy's blog.  If you are feeling a little lost, make sure you hop back to the Lil' Inker Blog to get back on the trail of fun.  You can also check out the Lil' Inker Store where all of the new release goodies, and a whole lot more, are ready and waiting for you to put in your cart!

My first card uses the super cool Love & Honey Stamps and the Love & Honey Hearts Dies.

I love the flowers in this awesome set and I knew I wanted to make a background with it.   So, I used the solid floral heart from Love & Honey Stamps to create a black and white background.  Then I added a black strip across the card embossed with a pink "love" from the stamp set.  Then I added a white strip stamped with the hearts and win from the Love Is Love Stamps.  Next, I stamped and cut the same image using the Love & Honey Hearts Dies.  I colored them with bright colors to really pop with the black and white.  I added this to my card front with foam tape.  Here's a closer look:

My next project uses the the Love You More Than Words Script Heart Die.

This card couldn't have been more easy and it actually came about by accident.  I was going to cut the Love You More Than Words Script Heart Die from white cardstock for a different idea I had in mind.  Without paying attention, I put a folded card through with the die rather than a single piece of cardstock.  The result was the cut layer clinging to the uncut bottom layer.  I loved how it looked but wanted more contrast than white on white so I repeated that idea with two shades of gray.  I did add some glue here and there to make sure it stays stuck but it took some prying in parts to get the layers apart.  I toyed with the idea of just going with that as my card but I wanted to see how it would look if I fussy cut around the words.  I gave it a go and I loved the end result.  I wanted to keeps the rest of the card simple so I just used a stone card base and added a layered strip to ground everything.  Foam tape did the dimensional layering for me and it was good to go.  Here's a closer look:

My final card today uses the Galentine's Day Stamps.

I just loved this little tote back and was going to create an entire card background with them stamped and colored in different ways.  Instead, I stamped the totes from Galentine's Day Stamps and colored them before trimming them into a border I layered with coordinating card stocks.  I added this to a stone base but I thought it still needed some so I trimmed off some edges and added it to a black card front.  Then, I colored and glossy accented a tote to add with my sentiment banners and some enamel hearts.  Here's a closer look:

Today I decided to show you what I created with the Forever Heart Die Layer I and Forever Heart Die Layer II.

I just love how these new dies work.  I love that they work together or separately giving you so many options!  For this card I decided to create by background using Forever Heart Die Layer I and Forever Heart Die Layer II together.  I used black and then layered that onto a kraft card base.  Next, I cut parts of my sentiment from white card stock using Valentine's Word Tags Dies and the forever from Forever Heart Die Layer I.  Then I cut a heart from the Love You More Balloons & Hearts Die Set and the "you" portion of my sentiment from Mini Envelopes Dies & Accessories both using pink card stock.  Then, I layered everything up and I loved the finished look of it.  Here's another peek:

My next card uses Forever Heart Die Layer II alone and paired with Farm Love Stamps and Farm Love Dies.

This time I used the Forever Heart Die Layer II on some watercolor paper.  I masked off the heart portion and stamped a fun pattern on the background using the Unstoppable Stamps.  Then I did a little messy water coloring inside the heart.  Then I got to work coloring the cute little group of animals I had stamped with Farm Love Stamps.  When I had them all colored, I cut them out with the Farm Love Dies and grouped them on my card with a vellum banner I had stamped with my sentiments from Farm Love Stamps.  Here's a closer look:

Don't want to forget about our giveaway!
